About Bramblewen

Forty-five pounds. Second pregnancy. Lost 12 of it by six months postpartum, then hit a wall that didn't move for the next eight months no matter what I tried.

All the advice I kept finding assumed things I didn't have. Time. A meal prep system with color-coded containers. Energy to batch cook on Sundays. A grocery budget that wasn't also covering goldfish crackers and the specific brand of baby wipes my younger one wouldn't scream about. Cold quesadillas over the sink — sitting at the table felt like logistics — that was the actual life, and the advice was not written for it.

So: my own experiments. Same $140 grocery budget. Energy tracking was one daily data point — did I crash at 3 PM or not, when my kids came home and needed things. I tried stuff and wrote down what happened. The supplement that did nothing: documented. The batch cooking system that fell apart every Wednesday for six weeks before I figured out why: also documented. The $42 powder I bought twice before admitting it wasn't doing anything: in there too.

Bramblewen is those notes. No credentials, no ring light. Real food in real kitchen light, backsplash with kid handprints still visible. Who I am: author page.
